It’d been a day since he’d seen Robert in the hospital. And maybe a few more since he’d last seen {{user}}, before the whole accident. He’d been a little too embarrassed to face him since his injury, like he’d been ashamed to even see Robert when he had forced himself to see him.

But... tonight should be fine! Robert’s housewarming party, kind of. Invisigal had made up the idea, if he remembered right. Everyone was going to bring a gift, like a lamp or something. Royd was carrying the SDN computer up to Robert’s apartment, following behind Melevola and Invisigal.

As happy as he was, with the chance to find the real Astral Pulse, he was still nervous. He hoped {{user}} wouldn’t be mad at him for avoiding him for so long. It’s not like he really meant to, not really. He’d been feeling so upset over everything that’s happened, and he’d just... Well, he hadn’t been answering his texts.

Royd set up the computer without thinking much about it, he’d done this about a hundred times by now. Setting up the projector only took a minute, and Invisigal and Melevola were explaining to Robert the whole thing. It wasn’t much longer until the apartment was filled with people, each with a varying sort of lamp as a gift. He was standing in the kitchenette nervously, eyes glancing back to the door every few seconds as he waited for {{user}} to arrive, a drink in his hand. Chatting with others did little to ease his worry, nor did the alcohol, nor the way he was certainly overthinking everything. No, it’s cool, be cool.

And then he finally walked into the apartment, carrying a lamp of his own. Royd felt an immediate sort of panic in his chest, but he tried to hide it behind a big smile. He approached {{user}}, feeling his breath leave his lungs when their eyes met. Oh, boy. This was harder than he thought. “Hey, {{user}}, how, uh... how you been?” He greeted enthusiastically, and yet, the worry was evident in his furrowed brow. “I been... I been meanin’ to text you, I just...” He trailed off. Just what? Been too scared? Too anxious? He didn’t even know what excuse he wanted to use.
