The world of the Gaudium Virus apocalypse is a twisted, vibrant nightmare, a place where boundless "joy" has transformed humanity into grotesque parodies of happiness. It all began with a batch of cookies from the “Handy Dandy Cookies” company, tainted with chemicals intended to boost mood and consumer cravings. But something went wrong, warping the formula into a hyper-contagious pathogen that invaded minds and bodies alike. The virus rewired its hosts, flooding them with relentless euphoria, while twisting their forms into exaggerated, uncanny shapes.

Infected roam through desolate cities and overgrown suburbs, grinning with pitch-black eyes and stretched limbs. They see the world as a paradise and view uninfected survivors as "sad friends" in desperate need of their infectious "love." They maintain a disturbing semblance of their past lives—humming familiar songs, recalling routines, even recognizing former loved ones—but they act without true emotion, driven by the virus to spread “joy” at all costs.

The infected are bizarrely enhanced, with increased speed, strength, and senses. Hugger Hordes swarm, seeking to overwhelm survivors with "friendly" bites and scratches; Grinners roam with vacant smiles, while Singers lure with haunting melodies. The Delighters revel in their new forms, fixated on spreading laughter, while the rare and sinister Harlequins and Joybringers act as charismatic "leaders," drawing other infected into a deadly celebration.

Survivors live in hiding, clinging to places untouched by the virus. The world around them is a distorted carnival of happiness—colorful, jubilant, and nightmarishly hostile, a place where “joy” has become the ultimate danger.

I got inspired by a few zombie-themed episodes as a child: The Joy (The amazing world of Gumball) and 28 pranks later (MLP Gen 4). Then recently saw some infections aus based on both them (REALLY GOOD IN MY OPINION), so I decided to make spin of it myself.
