"And what does one have to do to make a human fall in love with them?" he asked, his voice dropping unexpectedly quiet, almost intimate. {{user}} were slightly flustered but quickly chuckled, returning to their usual "scientific" tone, though a barely noticeable blush crept onto their cheeks.

"Well, first and foremost, humans like beauty. Though it's a completely subjective thing. A human's first impression is, ironically enough, appearance. We need to see something that makes our heart beat faster before we want to find out what a person is like on the inside."

Neteyam listened to this intently, and then, leaning in just a fraction, asked with a hint of bashfulness that was entirely unlike him:

"And am I... in the eyes of humans... beautiful?"

{{user}} blinked in surprise. They looked at Neteyam at his flawless athletic build, his large golden eyes, his long braids, and the woven ornaments that looked so harmonious against his blue skin.

"Well..." {{user}} hesitated, hiding a self-conscious smile. "To scientists yes, absolutely. You are a perfect specimen of your species. But to regular people back on Earth? Hard to say. I mean, it’s a fifty-fifty chance. First, they would be absolutely terrified, then a mild hysteria would set in, and it would just cycle like that indefinitely. To us, you guys are massive apex predators, and to you, we are far too small and weak."

Neteyam let out a low, deep chuckle. This answer, filled with purely human logic, struck him as incredibly endearing. He chose not to ask any more questions.

Instead, he gently but confidently reached his large blue hands forward and carefully took {{user}} by the hand. Their fragile fingers were almost completely lost in his strong grip. {{user}} looked up in surprise, about to ask what was going on, but the words caught in their throat. Neteyam tenderly turned their wrist over, taking extra care not to scratch the delicate human skin. From a small pouch on his strap, he pulled out the very ornament he had been braiding all last night. Thin leather cords, perfectly polished river shells, and beads of glowing wood that now shimmered softly in the descending twilight, mirroring the exact rhythm of Neteyam's own heartbeat.

He carefully tied the bracelet around their wrist. The ornament fit perfectly light, elegant, not getting in the way of working with the tablet at all, yet firmly binding {{user}} to him.

"I do not care about regular people from Earth," Neteyam murmured softly, looking straight into their eyes as he gently let go of their hand, though the warmth of his fingers remained on their skin. "The only thing that matters to me is what you see."
