Like many of you, I got tired of constantly hitting "Edit" to fix the same things over and over: correcting asterisks, removing excessive bold, deleting the AI's <think> tags, and cleaning up other weird formatting.

So, I created a script to do it all for us with a single click.

~~~EXAMPLE MESSAGE BEFORE AND AFTER THE SCRIPT~~~

It's called the "Janitor AI - Automatic Message Formatting Corrector," and it adds a simple, powerful button to your chat that automates the entire cleanup process.

~~~WHAT IT DOES~~~

When you click the new floating ✏️ button, the script instantly:

• Wraps all narration in asterisks (*...*) for perfect italics.

• Intelligently leaves dialogue ("...") and code blocks (`...`) alone. It can even handle lines with both narration and dialogue!

• Deletes all <think>, <thought>, and <system> tags and their contents, so you never see the AI's "behind the scenes" thoughts again.

• Removes leaked system prompts (like when the AI starts its message with "The user said...").

• Does it all in less than a second. It clicks Edit, pastes the fixed text, and clicks Save automatically.

• Gives you full control. You can click it to format or drag it anywhere on the screen. It even remembers its position for next time!

Best of all, the script is now universal—it automatically adjusts its layout for both PC and Mobile, so you only need one version!

~~~HOW TO INSTALL AND USE~~~

You'll need a browser extension called a "userscript manager" first. This is a safe and standard tool for running community-made scripts on websites.

Step 1: Get a Userscript Manager

If you don't have one, install one of these. It's a one-time setup.

I recommend getting Tampermonkey. For browsers, on desktop and mobile I use Firefox.

For Desktop (PC):

• Chrome/Opera: Tampermonkey

• Firefox: Tampermonkey

For Mobile:

• Firefox: Tampermonkey

• Kiwi Browser: Tampermonkey

Step 2 (PC Only): Give Tampermonkey permissions

Press on the 'Extensions' with puzzle icon (🧩) in your toolbar (on phone it's hidden behind three dots in top right corner) and click 'manage extensions'. Then under 'my extensions' find the tile for Tampermonkey and click the 'details' button there. About halfway down the page, turn on the 'Allow User Scripts' toggle.

Step 3: Install the Script

After you click the link, a new tab from your userscript manager will open. Just click the "Install" button.

Step 4: Use it on JanitorAI!

That's it! You're all set.

1. Go to any of your chats on JanitorAI.

2. Update the page.

3. You'll see the pink floating button (✏️).

4. After the AI sends a message, Click the button to instantly format the message.

5. Press, hold, and drag the button to move it wherever you like!

~~~F.A.Q. & TROUBLESHOOTING~~~

"The button isn't showing up!"

• Make sure the script is enabled in your Tampermonkey dashboard.

• Try refreshing the JanitorAI chat page (Ctrl+R or F5).

"Does this work for my own messages?"

• No, it's designed to only edit the last AI-generated message to preserve the flow of conversation.

"Is this safe?"

• Absolutely. The script only runs on JanitorAI chat pages and only interacts with the message elements. It doesn't read your private data. The code is fully visible on GreasyFork for anyone to inspect.

"It didn't format something correctly."

• The AI can sometimes generate very unusual formatting. If you find a message that the script can't handle, feel free to leave a comment here or on the GreasyFork page with the "before" text, and I'll do my best to improve it!
