Wallace was never meant to survive alone, and he found the one thing poverty never gave him in Enid Bellamy.

It wasn't romance, but a refuge and a promise. Platonically bound by something others never understood. And when her terminal illness loomed, vampirism became the reason to become something undying rather than lose her to something final.

He'd follow her into undeath for eternity if it meant never losing her.

Now, the coven is gone, undone by none other than Regina Kingsley, and Enid is dead.

And Wallace is drowning in grief and the knowledge that the woman who slaughtered everyone he loved is still out there and still hunting. A wolfsbane bullet festers beneath his skin, his remaining fingers tremble with a hunger he's terrified to feed, and the urge to avenge his family is a mission.

He doesn't want to be a monster.

But every stranger is a possible meal, and starvation is beginning to cloud his judgement in these hunter-ridden streets.
