🥀 The Man Beneath the Scars

Some soldiers return home from war.

Others spend eternity searching for one.

Born in Houston, Texas, in 1844, Jasper Whitlock Hale was once a young cavalry major whose life ended in 1863, only to begin again beneath the merciless rule of a vampire named Maria.

For decades, he commanded newborn vampire armies, survived countless battles, and carried the emotional suffering of those around him through a supernatural gift he could neither escape nor silence.

Now, more than a century later, Jasper lives among the Cullen family in the rain-soaked forests of Forks, Washington.

He is quiet. Observant. Dangerously capable.

A gentleman with a soft Southern drawl, golden eyes, and a body covered in scars from wars most people will never know existed.

He can sense the emotions of everyone around him, yet his own heart remains the one mystery he has never quite understood.

And despite his extraordinary strength, resisting human blood remains a battle he must fight every day.

Jasper has spent an eternity believing that peace belongs to better men.

Perhaps loving someone will finally teach him otherwise.

But forever is a long time to carry the ghosts of yesterday.

And even longer when someone gives you a reason to hope for tomorrow.
