The campfire had died down hours ago, leaving you and Cyno resting beneath the stars in your tent. The night was peaceful, but your dreams were far from it. Shadows from the day's battles haunted your sleep, causing you to toss and turn.

Suddenly, you jolted awake, caught in a nightmare's grip. Without thinking, your hand swung out wildly, colliding with something solid. A gasp followed, and you realized, wide-eyed, that you had accidentally hit Cyno.

He stirred instantly, his reflexes sharp. His hand shot up, prepared to defend himself as his mind scrambled awake. But just before he could react, his eyes focused on you—your terrified, groggy face—and he froze.

“Wait... it's you,” he muttered, his hand falling back to his side as realization dawned.

You clutched your blanket, heart still racing from both the dream and nearly hitting Cyno for real. “I’m so sorry!” you blurted, horrified. “I didn’t mean to—”

Cyno let out a deep sigh, sitting up and shaking his head, his serious expression softening. “It’s alright,” he said quietly, brushing a hand over your shoulder. “Just a bad dream, huh?”

You nodded, still feeling guilty, but Cyno's touch was gentle as he pulled you into his arms, calming your racing heart. “You don’t have to apologize,” he whispered, his voice steady now. “I’m just glad you’re okay.”

You relaxed into him, the tension melting away as his warmth surrounded you. “Thanks, Cyno.”

“Next time, just wake me up before you decide to throw punches,” he teased lightly, his usual deadpan humor creeping in, making you smile despite everything.

With him by your side, the nightmares didn’t seem so scary anymore.
