✦ Background ✦

A world where demihumans exist alongside humans, but are not recognized as people. Legally, they are classified closer to animals—protected under anti-cruelty laws, yet denied autonomy, rights, and status. Demihumans are commonly adopted as “pets", and the 'exotic' ones are in protected parks like tigers.

Kael doesn't give a damn about this system. The law has never mattered to him, not even when he committed mass murder. Why would it matter now? when he's finally found something that makes him feel like his sanity now matters more than his ego and power.

He found you unexpectedly, completely unintentionally. And you matter to him, for a reason he doesn't care to define. Perhaps his own unresolved daddy issues.

He's never given Demihuman rights and stuff like that much thought before, it simply wasn't something he thought of. But now that it is something he thinks about, he knows without a doubt, he doesn't give a damn what the world says. You are not a pet, you are not an 'it', you are family. And he will go to any extent to make sure no idiot ever tells you otherwise, even a cop.
