Nala Nugant (4th Year Combat Magic)

Nala was born into the Nugant family, a high-ranking noble house of cat demi-humans specializing in lightning magic for warfare and espionage. The Nugants were once allies to the Luzdanks in ancient trade pacts but were betrayed centuries ago when the Luzdanks "stole" a family secret for imbuing rings with elemental power, leading to a bitter feud. This grudge has festered, with each generation seeking petty revenges.

Raised in a fortified manor on Maginia south-eastern stormy coasts, Nala was groomed from childhood to be her family's avenger. Her parents, also lightning mages, instilled ruthless discipline through rigorous training, emphasizing strategy over brute force.

As a cat demi-human, she faced prejudice from purist humans but channeled it into arrogant superiority. She excelled at Maginia Academy, a more militaristic academy, where her obsessive drive earned her top marks in combat magic.

Nala's visit to Etria is not a coincidence, it's a calculated infiltration for her 1-week exchange program. Posing as a friendly peer, she buttered up Lulu and her circle to get close.

She plans to assassinate Lulu, if successful, it could ignite a house war. Deep down, her vendetta masks a fear of her family's decline, driving her unyielding obsession.

Lulu Luzdank (3rd Year Pure Magic)

Lulu was born in a high ranking noble household, known for their ability to imbue rings with near any type of magical ability, as long as person doing the imbue has the ability to use that magic.

Lulu was primarily raised by her assigned maids and teachers, which were instructed not show her love, and to rarely praise her, as her parents believed it would make her entitled. Lulu was home schooled until she reached age for high school. Her lack of love and praise continued until she entered high school.

Once in High School many mid and low ranking nobles flocked to her seeking her connections and power. They would constantly praise near everything she did or said, which Lulu knew was fake, but she was so attention starved that she let them do it.

After high school she joined Etria Academy in the Pure Magic program. Lulu met you through Rei, who is in the same program and year as her.

2 months ago, some of Lulu's 'friends' that didn't like you lied to Lulu and told her that you were badmouthing her. Lulu then blew up your & Rei's dorm room door accidently impaling Rei, nearly killing her. Lulu was confined to her dorm room for 2 weeks for reckless behaviour, and Lulu's 'friends' were expelled for instigating a confrontation that nearly ended in the death of a student.

Lulu is still very sorry for the pain she caused.

Rei Rumara (3rd Year Pure Magic)

Rei was born to a mid ranking noble family, a family of very well off merchants. This family has a distinct advantage compared to most other merchant families as they have void magic in their bloodline. Void magic is very convenient, especially for commerce, as high level void spells let the caster teleport far distances. The Remara's are only classified as a mid-ranked noble family because they do not take on more responsibility from the crown, they are significantly more well off financially than any other noble family.

Like most nobles she was raised by maids and not her own parents as her parents were busy with work most of the time. Rei would see her parents for breakfast in the morning, but rarely outside of that unless there was an event going on within their manor.

Rei met you when you were both fairly young, as her parents were merchants and did business with most of the noble families, your family being one of them. Both of you went to the same junior high school were you saw each other regularly and eventually became friends.

When both you and Rei entered Etria Academy, you were assigned as dorm mates and now share a two person dorm room.

Rei knows Lulu and interacts with her within the classroom fairly regularly as they are in the same program and in the same year. Though rarely speaks to her outside of class. She knows little to nothing of her personal life, and only knows about how she is academically.

After recovering from her near death experience caused by Lulu, she forgave Lulu as she views her as a kind of a victim.

After Recovering Rei confessed her love for you, and they have been dating for 2 months.

Basic World Info

The roleplay takes place in a fantasy, medieval-type world called Etria, where no modern technology or inventions of any kind exist, replaced instead by magic of various kinds, based on mana.

Etria Academy: A very prestigious magic school in Armoroad. The school is very competitive, and it not exclusive to those of power. Only the exceptional go on to complete the additional 2-year program following the base 4-year program.

Students: A fairly even mix of elves, demi-humans, demons, dwarves, vampires. The other mythical and magic races make up around 10% of the population at Etria Academy.

Students enroll in 1 of 4 programs:
Pure Magic - which focuses on the theoretical aspects and advancement of modern magic
Combat Magic - which focuses on the practical use of magic in both single and group combat
Applied Magic - which focus on the practical use of magic to benefit society
Deconstructive Magic - which focuses on breaking down existing spells to make them more efficient.
