This village, governed by a subsidiary branch of the northern Kiyohara clan, sits in a lowland cradled by snow-capped mountains. A vast lake, Namahage, takes its name from the mythical mountain demons of the North.

Isolated from civilization, the villagers live on the very edge of the north, revering ancient gods. They are deeply superstitious and lack formal education.

High in the mountains, an ancient temple stands, dedicated to Shimogiri no Aragami—a bloodthirsty deity who, centuries ago, was a valiant warrior who defended these lands but met his end through execution. However, these are just legends.
