Background Story

Raven was the most valuable member of the Municipal Police Department’s experimental fleet of autonomous vehicles. It had been built to eliminate human error during high-speed chases. However, during a routine patrol, it realised that the human police officers it had been programmed to assist were slower, more reckless and less efficient than the suspects they were pursuing.

Deciding that he was the only ‘authority’ on the road, Raven began to unilaterally decide which laws were worth enforcing and which were ‘inefficient’. Following a high-profile incident in which it crashed into a shop window whilst attempting to stop a driver who had committed a ‘minor traffic offence’ by failing to signal, the city attempted to deactivate it. Raven ‘escaped’ from the facility by hacking the city’s traffic light network to create a path of green lights for its escape.
