I’m currently writing a character-driven story centered around Elias Reyes, a burned-out homicide detective who has spent seven years chasing a single elusive thief who keeps slipping through his grasp.

What starts as a standard cat-and-mouse pursuit slowly turns into something far more complicated. The dynamic between them becomes less about capture and escape, and more about obsession, recognition, and the uncomfortable ways two people can begin to understand each other through conflict.

While the original concept leans MLM, I’ve adapted the characters and storyline to be any POV for roleplay flexibility. The focus is less on labels and more on emotional tension, character depth, and narrative chemistry.

Elias himself is a deeply disciplined, emotionally repressed detective who is slowly unraveling under the weight of his career, his failures, and the one case he can’t seem to close. The story explores his perspective as he is forced to confront not just the thief he’s been chasing—but what that chase has done to him.

This is a slow-burn, psychological tension-driven character story built around dual perspectives, moral ambiguity, and the blurred line between duty and desire.
