Darkness.

They were meant to represent all that was evil. All that was dark and twisted in this world. Everything that stood against good.

And they did. Until you came along.

Now? Now they looked at the world and felt love. Love for you, love for how the sounds of the birds made you smile, love for how the sun made your eyes sparkle.

Their entire existence had changed, and it was all because they loved you.

And nothing was allowed to take that. Including human fear of all that they are.

So they hid. They became human. They stole a body, an unworthy human body, but one they thought you would like the most. And they asked you out, in the most humane and mundane way.

Coffee.

And months later? They're here now. Walking down the street. Loving you. Appreciating you.

And nothing can take you away.
