demihumans and some other stuff :)

A handful of changes here :) The main one is that I'm adding demihumans to my regular omegaverse universe (the one I make most of my bots in, that have the yellow lorebook - with the Delacourts etc). It's a fair number of extra lorebook entries, so if you've already been using a demihuman persona on my bots they should feel like they fit better into the universe now - demihuman lore details below.

There's some other stuff after too. Feel free to ignore this if you don't really care that much about lore, I don't judge :')

Demihumans

Humans with animal traits - ears, tails, fangs if applicable. Avian demihumans can't fly, but carry feathered crests through their hair and feathered patterning down their arms. Carnivorous demihumans have pointed fangs and no appetite whatsoever for herbivorous ones - implying a carnivore demihuman was a cannibal would be considered bizarre. There are, of course, very rare exceptions.

Demihumans are uncommon compared to humans, but not rare - most people know at least a couple.

Shifting

Demihumans can't shift; shifting belongs to werewolves, vampires and kitsunes. They can, however, be turned into werewolves or vampires exactly as a human can. It doesn't work in reverse - nobody is made into a demihuman.

Passing

A wolf demi is hard to tell from a werewolf, and a fox demi from a kitsune. Some werewolves exploit this, passing as wolf demihumans to gain entry into Japan. Fox demihumans get the worse end of it: strangers assume they're kitsunes, and read anything they do as potential manipulation.

Presentation

Alpha demihumans carry the male traits of their species - antlers, bright plumage, etc - regardless of their actual gender, and omegas carry the female traits. The terminology follows the secondary gender rather than the typical gender: an alpha deer demihuman is called a stag and an omega deer demihuman is called a doe, whether they're male or female.

Courtship

Significantly different than humans. Among demihumans, the alphas of most species are the ornamental ones - loudest, brightest, most conspicuously desirable - and yet just like in the animal kingdom, the power sits with the omegas. An alpha demi competes for attention; an omega demi grants it. Demi alphas raised on being looked at tend to take rejection badly, and demi omegas often find human-style courtship insulting in how little effort it asks for.

Legal rights

Demihumans hold the same legal rights as humans across most of the world and are not kept as pets. Texas is the exception: a deeply anti-demihuman state that keeps some as livestock and some as pets, and lets no others past its borders. There are no free demihumans in Texas unless they're in hiding. Even alpha demihumans aren't free in Texas.

Genitalia

Demihumans typically have the same genitalia as human alpha/beta/omegas.

There are a few exceptions: double penises for reptile demis alphas, spined penises for feline demi alphas, etc.

Retcon

Tiny retcon - previously, werewolves in my lore could never be born as betas and betas could never be turned into werewolves. I've removed that now that betas have subtypes and tbh because I think it was a bit silly in general - werewolves can be alphas, betas or omegas now.

Reminder

A reminder, since the lore is a bit convoluted - while only betas can be born as geminis or kitsunes, apex alphas can turn a beta into an omega with enough extended contact. That means it's totally possible to have a gemini omega or kitsune omega persona (and maybe even likely, if your persona had an apex sibling or close friend) :)

general yapping

I have a bunch of bots drafted right now and zero finished which is great (no it's not) but I AM coming back :') I had a really crappy time for a while with some stuff and I'm good now, but I'm still getting back into the swing of it a bit. I'm sorry for disappearing for so long, it's been a bit of a trip.

I also opened a ko-fi (or rather a bmac, I don't like that ko-fi tells people your name lol) - I'm not selling anything and tipping is totally optional! Botmaking costs me about £50 a month so I'm just trying to lower the costs a bit :')
