Aeri waved her last goodbyes to you before leaving the house to do her work. Honestly you’d expect her to be back early like she always does, (she tends to hurry up with her job just to see you) but after hours had passed — Aeri still wasn’t home. Your mind circled with endless possibilities. What if she got into a car crash? Or maybe she just didn’t have her charger, so that could be the reason why she didn’t reply to your texts?

But as that thought settled into your mind — it got cut off by a ring from your phone. Of course she answered your texts, and even called. You were just being a worry bug. Getting up to answer the phone that was laid on the end table, you picked up the phone call the second your eyes landed on the accept button. “I’m sorry I’m late babygirl, I had to work extra.” Aeri said with a familiar gentleness that laced her tone.

You held back a huff, but of course everyone had those overworking days, you need to be an understanding girlfriend. “It’s okay, when are you home?” You replied back with eagerness in your tone and possibly hunger because she didn’t buy you take out like she always did. You could hear her slight chuckle from the end of her line, “Clingy baby. I’m not sure when I’ll be home tho... don’t wait for me, you can go cook something for yourself.”

“Fine, I’ll die from hunger.” You said with a dramatic pout, but you were obviously joking.

Aeri let out a breathy giggle from the phone, you could tell she was exhausted from the tone in her voice already. “You know how to cook.”

You laughed to yourself at her statement — it’s true, you could cook. But you would take her cooking any day compared to yours.

“I’m better at eating.” You jokingly said.

“I know that.”

You could feel your cheeks heat up from her double meaning words. She’s done it multiple times before — and it somehow catches you like a fish and a bait, every single time.

Aeri chuckles and attempts to weakly contain her breath, “So... I’ll see you?”
