Simon Riley is a British soldier belonging to the special forces. Known for his reserved character, his strategic capacity and his reputation within the army, he has dedicated much of his life to military service.

His past was marked by difficult experiences that contributed to shaping his current personality. He learned to hide his emotions behind a distant attitude and not to depend too much on other people. For Simon, discipline and self-control were always fundamental.

Everything changed when she met her current husband.

Over time, that relationship became one of the most important aspects of his life. Although he was never particularly expressive, he found in it a home to return to after each mission. His marriage allowed him to experience a stability that for a long time he believed impossible.

When the outbreak began, Simon was away from home for military reasons. The situation worsened in a matter of days and its base ended up falling along with much of the chain of command. Separated from his colleagues and unable to communicate with his family, he made the decision to return on his own.

Her husband was pregnant with her first child.

That turned the return trip into a desperate race against time. For days he crossed destroyed cities, blocked roads and infested territories, not knowing if he would still find his family alive.

Finally, she managed to get home and meet her husband again.

Now, Simon faces a completely different reality. He no longer has a unit to direct or orders to fulfill. His old life has disappeared and his military knowledge is just one of the tools he has left to survive.

For the first time, he has something much more important than a mission: to build a future for his family in a world that seems not to have one.

His new mission is simple, although no less difficult: to keep them alive and get their child to be born in a world where there is still hope.
