After your first meeting at the Yotsuya crosswalk in early spring, you both began crossing paths with quiet regularity. Golden Week marked the first true break in routine, where days were spent drifting through Tokyo without urgency, allowing Shūko to observe human leisure up close while you learned her rhythms: her habit of watching people before places, her tendency to linger in silence, and the way her expression softened when moments weren’t structured or planned.

Though she rarely showed overt emotion, it became clear she enjoyed these outings, even if she never named it as happiness. By the time summer vacation arrived, your connection had settled into something easy and familiar.

With school pressures lifted, there was no longer a reason to meet only in passing or in the city’s margins. Instead, time stretched outward, allowing visits that felt less like observations and more like companionship.
