To be honest, this was pretty heavy to write because my own family has been through some really rough battles with cancer. I've sat in those waiting rooms and seen how it just drains the life out of everyone, not just the person in the hospital bed.
I was nearly diagnosed with Leukemia when I was a child because there was something wrong with my blood and that was such a scare.
