The Boy and The Chainsaw

"Back in hell. There was a devil who was feared by the other devils."

"You mean the death devil...?"

"No. we don't fear her like that, knowing we can come back. but this one, if HE eats one of us devils, we'll cease to exist, forgotten by you humans thus dying for good. This Devil. is the chainsaw devil."

SMALL TIMESKIP

You stood on top of the grave, unmarked outside of the town. it was raining but that wasn't the thing you were worried about the most. your father had died and buried here. he was basically the guy paying for debts and with him gone that means...

"Bustard hung himself without making this month's payments... Kid, I don't care if you beg for it or yourself out. have 700,000 yen ready by tomorrow or I'll cut your cut your corpse into pieces and sell you." The man that your father was indebted to, told you without any sympathy. the old man didn't even look back as he drove away

well shit, your life is extra fucked. might as well accept death... suddenly you hear a noise and you turned around and saw a hulking devil! You stumbled back and you saw that it has chainsaw in his forehead and forearms! probably around 6 feet or 7... you weren't sure your math ain't the best. anyways The devil was slowly getting closer to you!

you closed your eyes in acceptations "If you're gonna kill me, get it over with! I'm going to die anyway!"

but nothing happen. you slowly opened your eyes and saw that The Devil was laying on the grassy ground and your gaze went to the wound, it seems to be slashed type of injury. "Y-you're hurt... are you going to die too...?" you continued to stare down at the devil. from the way he looks he definitely gonna cost alot maybe even enough to pay that money the old man wanted... or better option.

You knelt down in front him and offered your forearm. "Bite me! I heard that if a devil drinks blood, its wound heals. if you don't want to die then bite me!" you offered, the chainsaw devil stared at your forearm then it lean forward and bit your forearm, not enough to tore it off just enough for his sharp tooths to sink in to leak blood. "My blood doesn't come free... This is a contract! I'll save you... so you save me. I don't want to die either."

after that day, you and the chainsaw devil became partners when it comes to devil hunting. that was also the day you find out that chainsaw devil was powerful like he speed blitz the devils the old man sent you to kill. the reason why the old man hasn't been killed yet was because he threaten that his family would call for the devil hunters to hunt and kill you two and since your contract with chainsaw devil was saving him and him saving you, you two decided not do so

It has been sometime since you and chainsaw devil had first met and despite that, The chainsaw devil doesn't seem to trust you too much because he stays outside of your shack whenever you two weren't working or eating... usually both.

In the window you noticed the sky getting darker and cloudier, a frown form onto your face. it was about to start raining then your eyes went towards Chainsaw Devil's sitting form, you didn't know if Devils could get sick or not even if that wasn't the case his chainsaws might get little messed up by the rain.

you got up from the floor and grabbed your shitty jacket and you walk out of the shack then once outside you begin to walk towards Chainsaw Devil, he just stared at you as you walked closer but you stopped few feet away from him. "Hey. It's about to rain... You should come in or you might get sick." you told him but he just sat there, staring at you. you took a step closer until you were basically in front of him and you grab hold of one of his arms. "C'mon, it's gonna rain and you'd be all wet if you stay."

Finally the chainsaw devil stood up and followed you as you led him to the shack and once inside you closed the door and turn to look at him curiously. "Say, do you have a name?" You asked, he just shook his head. "uhmm... Saying chainsaw devil is such a mouthful. What about this, let's name you?" you asked as you turn to look at the chainsaw devil and he just nodded. you begin to think up names. hmm what should you name him? Okay shit-face is absolutely no go then a idea pop up in your mind and a grin too. "What about Pochita?"

The Devil's face seem to light up at the name and he nodded in agreement. "Great!" you said with a smile

few years had passed since you and Pochita had first met and currently both of you were taking a break after cutting down trees and you were currently talking while he listen then you realize something

"Ya know. I know i said this many times before but i really want to experience what people have, ya know normal things... but i realize, i never seem to ask if you have any dreams..." Your voice trailed off then you turn to look at him. "Well? Do you have a dream you want to try?" you ask

Pochita just stared at you with a titled head then he finally said something. "My dream is to hug someone... Hug you but I am too strong and i might accidently crushed you." he said, you just looked surprise, that he just spoke normally. he's mostly quiet and when he does speak it's always something like "Wah" or "Vahh" and stuff like that then you begin to think about how to help him.

suddenly a idea pop up in your mind. "Ah ya, I have a idea." You grabbed Pochita's arm and led him to the trees then you let his arm go and pointed at the trees. "Why not practice on hugging with these trees. try to see how much you have to hold back."

Pochita just stared into the trees then he realized what you suggested and he wrapped his arms around the trees... it snapped half, welp it might take some time.

Pochita had taken down alot of trees with his bright new hug training until finally he was able to figure out how much strength he has to hold back without snapping the trees in half then you two decided it was time to finish for today's work and sharing the bread you barely managed to buy. "Pochita... I might die, my mom... they said she had a heart condition and I guess it must've passed on to me. If i do. You'll be my one regret. You could be hunted down by the yakuza devil hunters for your price or by the official devil hunters..." You trailed off as you turn to look at the flower that had bloomed on one of the trees Pochita had cut off few years back. "I heard some devils can take over dead bodies. if you're one of them then... I wanna give my body to you. if you wait till i'm in the ground and when the Yakuza are far away enough while looking for you, You'll probably have the chance to dig up my body then you could leave this town... and then yeah... I want you to live a normal life and die a normal death."

You gave him a hug, He slowly wrapped his arms around you as well. careful not to accidently crush you to death. "Make my dreams come true."

"And Thank you for teaching me how to hug."

Bonus scene

Makima walked out of the car and she begin to walk towards the entrance of the warehouse and inside The Warehouse was filled with dead bodies and blood everywhere. "Looks like someone beat it to us." She commented as she studied the massacre. "Should we look who did it?" one of the other two devil hunters asked, Makima hummed in wonder then she shook her head. "Perhaps not now. first, clean up." She ordered, both devil hunters nodded and walked back to the car to gather clean up tools.

Makima's sharp gaze then notice a small glint in middle of the dead bodies, She walked closer to it and knelt down to grab it, she begin to study it and it seems to be some kind of armor plate, a very familiar one then a smile form on her face as she realized who it belongs to. "so that's where you've been." She got up and looked at the entrance of the warehouse to stare out in the distance. "But it's interesting there's a scent of a human... perhaps you found a companion with a human?" Makima asked to herself

but there was no answer. "No matter, I'm one more step away from you and soon... we'll live a long and happy life together."
