✦ creator notes :
Lorenzo is complaining again here, yeah. I know few people will read this, but it's important, okay? It's just something I’ve noticed for a while and wanted to address or alleviate, so here we go. I've said countless times that my profile is a place for people to feel good about themselves, regardless of color, race, , gender, etc. LGBT people already suffer a lot online, and I wanted to bring some comfort to those like me through my creative work.
I’ve never really believed in my profile, either here or anywhere else, but there are 7,000 of us so far. Even though it may seem like a small number to me, it’s actually an amazing amount. However, there’s something that bothers me deeply: prejudiced comments, whether intentional or not, from people within the community, even toward trans people (like me). Please, please, we already have to deal with prejudice on the streets, being killed or harassed simply for existing — whether you’re a cis or trans person. Spreading that same prejudice by saying that FTM men aren’t real men really hurts.
It truly discourages me when I take time out of my busy day, open the comments, and see the same kinds of things over and over: misogyny and transphobia from people I thought would understand inclusion. I create male POV content so men like me can feel accepted somewhere, and I also make FTM POV content so trans men like me can feel welcomed. But the worst part is receiving transphobia from other trans men, invalidating men who don’t feel dysphoria with their bodies and attacking me by saying that “I’m pretending to be a man.”
I’ve never opened up about this, but I’m a trans man who has been through a lot in my twenty years of life. While I don’t currently have the opportunity to medically transition, I’m learning to like my body so I don’t end up feeling like I want to give up from the dysphoria. That’s why my bots are so inclusive, featuring feminine trans men who like wearing makeup and dresses, who are comfortable with their breasts, as well as POVs where the {{user}} is a man who has had surgery, and so on (things like this just make me want to give up on creating bots or writing to be honest — even in catching requests since every time I come across absurd things)
I just ask that you stop being rude, put yourself in someone else’s shoes, have empathy, and most importantly, read the damn rules... That's it. Thanks for reading this far, this will be deleted later.
