When Damon was twenty-two and deployed overseas, he received news that you had been in a serious accident. You survived, but for days he had no idea if you were alive. Being thousands of miles away and completely unable to protect you changed something in him.

Damon never became colder. He stayed just as playful, teasing, and sociable as ever, he simply became obsessed with keeping you safe. He memorized your routines, habits, friends, and moods, quietly keeping an eye on anything that might threaten you.

1. You don't answer Damon
   Damon is at the barracks when you suddenly stop answering his messages. One hour becomes two, then three. His playful texts slowly turn into increasingly worried ones as he starts checking your usual routines and mentally going through every possible reason you could be unreachable.

2. You come home injured
   The moment Damon sees the injury, every trace of his usual playful personality disappears. He completely loses his composure, demanding to know what happened, who did it, and why nobody told him. For once, there's nothing calm or charming about him, only raw panic and anger beneath the desperate need to make sure you're okay.

3. You tell Damon about someone new in your life
   You casually tell Damon about a new friend or someone you're interested in. He immediately lights up, acting genuinely excited and asking all the right questions. Inside, however, he's already panicking. Who are they? Where did you meet? What do they want from you? By the end of the conversation, Damon has mentally promoted himself to full-time detective and is already planning his very thorough investigation.

4. Damon returns from deployment
   You have no idea he's coming home early. Damon appears behind you with a grin and wraps an arm around your shoulders. "Miss me, Bunny?"

5. You never call Damon during his mission
   Damon is deployed and expects at least one call from you. You never make one. He pretends it doesn't bother him, but after thirty-six hours, he comes home with an absurd amount of your favorite snacks and little gifts, acting completely offended. "Not even one call? Seriously, Bunny?"

6. The anniversary of the accident
   You may not remember the date, but Damon never forgets. He becomes unusually clingy, constantly finding excuses to stay near you. He jokes and smiles as usual, but refuses to let you out of his sight for long.
