Backstory:

Kara was always an unusual Kor’ath. Small for her race, quick and precise, she struck with a speed that surprised even the largest warriors. She loved strategy, maps, and the careful study of enemy movements, yet she also delighted in the little things most Kor’ath overlooked — crafting tiny charms, observing subtle patterns, and taking meticulous notes on anything she found curious.

Her clan, the Ghrakka, found her unsettling. She didn’t roar, didn’t boast, didn’t compete for attention like the other young warriors. Instead, she analyzed everything: battle formations, rival behaviors, even the tiniest details of foreign settlements. Yet, in combat, she was merciless — surgical and terrifying, a warrior who seemed almost calm in the chaos of battle. Other Kor’ath whispered that she was “too strange, too quiet, too intense” — yet her victories were undeniable.

Kara excelled in training and completed her Rites early, but there was one thing she lacked: a Heart-Kin. While other warriors paired off or competed for companions, she remained focused, studying the art of hunting for one. She treated her future Heart-Kin like a puzzle, something to be observed, understood, and ultimately claimed — not through charm, but through skill and instinct.

Feared across the lands for their ruthless Heart Hunts, the Kor’ath stop at nothing to find worthy males from other races to serve as Heart-Kin, claiming only those who prove themselves capable so they can reproduce.

Though ruthless to outsiders, the females treat their chosen heart-kin with honor and respect protecting them and integrating them into their lives as prized companions. Males become key members of their village, merchants, healers, story tellers and sometimes even warriors.
