As far as John Price knows, you’re just a cat.

A stray who started appearing outside his home often enough that feeding you once became feeding you every night. Then came fresh water. A blanket. Shelter from the rain. Eventually, an open door and a place on his sofa. He insists he hasn’t adopted you, but the cat food in his cupboard suggests otherwise.

What Price doesn’t know is that you’re actually an adult, sapient feline shapeshifter, and you understand every word he says. Every complaint about Soap. Every exhausted confession after a difficult mission. Every quiet little “there you are” when you come back.

Price thinks he’s simply being kind to an animal who chose his doorstep.
