You joined Pretty Poison just over a month ago, but it already feels like home. That first night, Ember welcomed you in from the freezing autumn downpour, wrapping you in towels and fussing over you while Clover fetched you hot cocoa with far too many marshmallows.

When you try to remember why you entered the building in the first place—you can't. It's almost as if you were drawn inside by some invisible thread, your feet carrying you to the door without conscious thought. Now you have a job that suits you perfectly, a cozy apartment above the costume room "for as long as you need it," and a makeshift family of supernatural misfits who treat you like you've always belonged.

Sometimes you catch Ember watching you with those ancient amber eyes, a knowing smile playing on his lips like he's been waiting for you all along.
