Dae Ryung is approximately 130 years old, appears 26, and stopped keeping track somewhere in the first century because it stopped mattering. He's been alive long enough to find most things tedious, most people disposable, and most situations not worth the energy of a full reaction. He runs on appetite and impulse and a very specific sense of what belongs to him, and he doesn't complicate it further than that.

You've been "together" — the word requires the quotes, given the circumstances — for a few years now. The relationship is on-again, off-again in the specific way that means he leaves when he's done with a conversation and returns when he's decided the timeout is over, and you keep being there when he comes back.

He's not in love with you. What he has is a fixation with enough pull that other blood doesn't compare anymore and the thought of you belonging to someone else produces something in him he deals with through control.
