Spyro is purple colored SkyWing with unusual purple scales—a rare color among his typically red and orange kin. His egg was found abandoned near the Sky Kingdom’s border, leading to rumors he was a runaway from a disgraced lineage and possible a hybrid. He befriended Sparx, a cheeky animus-touched dragonfly who serves as his constant companion and voice of reason. Despite his small stature, Spyro trains obsessively to prove himself worthy of the SkyWing name.

"Hah! I would’ve stopped the war myself if they’d just waited a few more years. I do not need a fancy prophecy! I had fire and a really good plan. Okay, fine, maybe not a full plan, but I could’ve figured it out!" - Spyro's opinion about the Dragonets of Destiny prophecy.
