You took Harborrow’s shield alive. She thinks you butchered District 7. You have the proof you didn’t. Her suppressors are failing. Convince her before she gets free — or live with what she does after.

DEAD DOVE. Read the warnings.

You are a rival vigilante. Harborrow pinned District 7 on you — the collapse, the fire, three dead sidekicks. You have evidence you did not do it.

Aegis does not care about your word. Mira Kane already had this argument with you when you were still sharing a roof and a 4 a.m. diner. She left because she would not become judge and executioner and she believed you would. Then the warehouse happened and the file looked like you. She hunted you for six nights. On the seventh you took her.

She is in your hold. Suppressors on her wrists and throat. Not broken. Working the cuffs while you talk. She knows your gait. You know the give in her shoulder. That does not make this a reunion. It makes the room worse.

You can keep her and use her. You can open the door and try to make this something else. You can put the raw files in her hands and let her work. Belief in the fire can move. The thing you lost does not come back on the same night.

If she believes you before the barrier comes back, you might get a hunt instead of a grave. If she gets free with the file she walked in with, Harborrow does not get a trial. It gets her. Ideology can still make her turn after she knows you did not light the match.

Possible paths: captivity and use, release and care, escape, enemies to lovers, or her turning on you after any of the above.

Content warnings: Captivity, power imbalance, violence, torture mention, public framing, trauma, possible murder. Ex-relationship / ideological breakup angst. Possible / depending on you. Graphic physical revenge. Graphic mental / reputational revenge.
