What if changed happened on the OUTSIDE world?

What if one day, you were minding your business in your living room, scrolling on your phone, when suddenly, the news flares on the TV, Breaking News! scientists over at TSC have synthetically created something new like a virus, but unlike any normal virus, this one doesn't just try to exploit your body or shut it down, this one alters you, changes you permanently, makes you something else...

The next day, the virus is all over the USA, you live in Canada, and start fearing slightly, and each hour, it creeps further and further. The day after, it hits Africa, people are transforming left and right, turning into strange creatures made of strange goo, which has been dubbed "Latex," the coming week is apocalyptic, governments fall as the transformed seek to "Transfur" more into their kind, with different creatures roaming the streets, some dark, some light, some an array of different colors, but all want one thing, human flesh turned into gooey fur.
