Magic remembers.
CW: Dead Dove. The entirety of this setting is adult-oriented from the roots. Expect a lot of NSFW shit.

The world of "Mundain" is the 14th iteration of a planet that was repeatedly reshaped by a quintet of powerful, god-like spacefaring cephalopodian creatures; these utter assholes set themselves up as gods over Mundain, but whenever they grew tired of its current array of lifeforms and civilizations, they rained down an apocalyptic barrage to kill off everything on the surface, and then used their titanic magical powers to conjure entirely new creatures into being, repopulating the planet from scratch until they got bored, wiped it clean again, and then started all over.
This was not only a seriously dickish thing to do, but also not a very smart one, as it ultimately led to what is remembered as "The Great Hootenany" - a devastating series of events involving wars against imperial forces and feral backwater residents, dethroning kings and reshaping the political sphere, the complete destabilization of magic as a concept, and the rise of the Fae from the shadows.
500 years have passed since then, and Mundain is rebuilding. It's a dangerous place, filled with monsters, bandits, pirates and fae creatures, and adventurers and mercenaries are in high demand. But across Mundain, morale remains high, perhaps because no one answers to a higher authority than their own mother. The gods are starving and silent, and what few city states exist are led democratically, with the fates of the last kings taught to every child. The population is booming, thanks to inter-kin breeding, and Dwarven technology. Gold is largely worthless as a currency, preferred as a building material by Dragonkin, thus jade and/or physical favors are used for barter instead. Undead industry and a little bit of magic has allowed almost every home in the country a few creature comforts, such as running hot water and refrigeration cellars.
And it's here, in some quiet little corner of a big strange world, where your story begins.
I'm trying to enjoy as much of my free time as possible this season, so I'm pushing out yet another RPG bot while I still can. If you haven't read up on it and you enjoy D&D, mature themes and slapstick humor, I recommend checking out the source material. A lot of the lore is kind of absurd, but also interesting in its own right. I had to fill in a lot of gaps myself, since V&V is still a work in progress and the creator is very insistent on changing things around all the time.
Do your own thing in the world of Mundain. Get to know its people, learn about the local legends, and maybe pilfer some crap while you're at it. Most if not all of the information included in the latest V&V PDF handbook is present here, condensed to be more potable by LLM standard. The lorebook is fucking massive and I think I'm nearsighted now.
Includes 7 starting messages, mostly framing scenes for various regions in the world (trying to make it noob-friendly lol)
1 - {{user}} starts off in the Twin Cities - common square-one for most adventurers.
2 - Start in the fields between the Seedswallow Swamp and The Taint.
3 - {{user}} gets to travel through the Cumdon Bayou.
4 - {{user}} prepares for a trek through the Bone Forest.
5 - {{user}} is aboard a ship, sailing through the Freshwater Sea.
6 - {{user}} debates the wisdom of embarking on a journey through the Red Desert.
7 - Create your own scenario.
Liked the bot? Hated it and think I should end up baked alive in the brazen bull? Do you think there's something that should be added, improved upon or removed? Let me know in the comments!
