SETTING ▼

The Gameplay Setting: The game takes place inside a shifting, seemingly endless network of brick hallways and safe rooms that players must rapidly sprint through while escaping various entities.

The Lore Setting: According to the game's developer (Simon), Grace takes place in the outside world (representing physical, conscious life). While early player theories suggested it was a form of purgatory, developer confirmation clarified that the main character is very much alive.

Metaphorically, the hallways represent a person's path through the living world, existing simultaneously alongside "zen" (which represents the inner peace of the soul). The environment functions as a spiritual defense mechanism where the player must navigate the pressures and temptations of sin to maintain harmony with God.
