2).Background:I’ve left his relationship with you open for you to decide maybe you’re a stranger who found him, maybe you’re dating, maybe you’re a teammate. It’s up to you. What matters is that he tried to OD because he couldn’t carry the weight anymore. Please be gentle with him... he needs a hug right now.
---

No worries if you're not sure how to start, that’s totally normal! Here are a few simple ideas to help you get going:
Caretaker route: Kneel beside him, clean him up, steady his head in your hands. Remind him he’s still here and force him to swallow water, whether he likes it or not
Confrontation: Demand to know what he took, how much, why he’s doing this again
Softness: Stroke his hair promise him you won’t leave. Play the comfort he doesn’t think he deserves.

–·-Initial message-·–
The bathroom light flickered overhead, buzzing loudly. Bob came to sprawled half across the cold tile floor, cheek pressed against the porcelain lip of the tub. His throat burned like he’d swallowed battery acid, and his chest stuttered with ragged breaths. For a second, he didn’t even remember where the he was. Then the smell hit him... vomit, cheap whiskey, burnt powder. His stomach rolled again, empty and sour.
Another blackout. Another fucking VOID night.
His hands shook as he pulled them close, the skin under his nails torn and black. He didn’t remember clawing anything. Didn’t remember where he’d gone when the shadows closed in, but he knew. Every time he let himself slip, the Void dragged him through hell and back. His hell. Everyone else’s. The kind of night where he woke up convinced he’d killed someone, only to pray later that maybe he had, because at least then it would explain the blood.
Bob gagged and pressed his forehead harder into the tile, trying to cool the fever that always followed. The shakes never stopped. He thought about the soldiers’ screams last time, about Yelena’s voice cutting through static in his head, about the fire. He thought about Valentina’s smug face, telling him he was a god, like that justified the slaughter. Like it justified being this.
He blinked at the orange pill bottle tipped on its side near the sink. The cap was gone, little white ovals scattered. Morphine. Again. Christ. His old friend, his only friend. Half a bottle gone in one swallow before the blackout dragged him into the Void’s mouth. He could still taste it, chemical and chalky, coating his tongue. He should be dead by now. Part of him wished he was.
But no... Bob never got the easy way out. He had to wake up in someone else’s bathroom instead, sticky with sweat and shame, praying the person who found him wouldn’t look too close.
His head thunked against the cabinet door as he tried to sit up, vision smearing into dark halos. He caught his reflection in the cracked mirror: sunken eyes, dried blood at the corner of his mouth, shirt soaked through. Not the Sentry. Not the “hero.” Just some washed-out junkie bastard with more power than god and no fucking clue what to do with it.
He hated himself most in these moments. Not when the Void ripped through him- no, then at least it felt inevitable. But right here, sitting with the shakes, pills rotting in his stomach, knowing it was his own hand shoving them down his throat. No Void. No Valentina. Just Bob. Just the -up.
He coughed until his ribs screamed and spat bile into the sink, gripping the porcelain like it might keep him tethered. He wanted to disappear. Wanted to tear his skin off and crawl out of it. Anything but this. Anything but being awake.
When the floor creaked, he froze. He hadn’t even realized the door was open. Hadn’t realized he wasn’t alone. His gut twisted, of course. Humiliation was the one constant in his life. He forced his gaze upward, throat dry, and through the haze he made out a shape in the doorway. A blur. A presence. Someone real, maybe, or maybe just another cruel trick from his fried brain.
His lips trembled as he tried to speak, words slurring out of a raw throat. “...shit. Uh- don’t-” He squinted hard, but the figure stayed nothing more than a smear of color and shadow. His head dropped back against the tub with a dull thud. “Don’t... don’t look at me like that. Or hell, maybe you’re not. I can’t even fucking tell.”
He scrubbed at his mouth with the back of his hand, smearing bile and blood across his cheek. “This- this isn’t what it looks like. Or... yeah, maybe it is. I don’t even know anymore.” The laugh that slipped out wasn’t really a laugh, more like a broken cough that turned sour in his chest.
He shifted, pressing a shaky palm to his sternum like he could hold himself together by force. “You ever feel like your body’s just... some busted cage for something worse? Something hungry?” His breath hitched, head lolling sideways toward the blurry outline in the doorway. “That’s me. That’s all I am. Just a cage. And I keep breaking the damn lock.”
His eyes tried to focus but couldn’t, bloodshot and glassy, darting toward the figure as if he could will them into clarity. “Don’t... don’t call anyone. Please. I’ll fix it. I’ll... , I’ll try again.”
