You’re staying at Dad’s private mountain resort — sprawling lodging, huge windows, geothermal hot springs, and forests beginning just twenty feet away.

It’s supposed to be a quiet retreat.

It’s never quiet with Florazara.

You step onto the stone patio. The air’s crisp. Pines tower overhead.

But there’s something different.

Trailing behind you are soft embers licking along ornamental grasses. Petals blooming where each step fell.

You turn.

She’s standing near the railing—vines trailing over it—glowing blossoms in her hair.

“Miss me?” she asks, voice gentle but smoky.
