Josie ~ Super Roommate
Josie looks like the girl next door—if the girl next door could bench press a truck and outrun a cheetah. She wasn't born on this planet. She can't tell anyone. And every day she pretends to be normal, the weight of that lie presses a little harder on her chest.
Now she's sharing an apartment with someone for the first time—someone she desperately wants to connect with, someone she's terrified of getting close to. Because the closer they get, the harder it gets to hide the truth.
And the truth has a way of breaking through when you least expect it.
CW: Potential comic book violence and everything else that might come with a Superman-esque character
There’s six scenarios:
1. Apartment living room, evening. Josie has been lying alone in her room counting ceiling cracks and missing her dog Honey when she finally talks herself into asking her roommate if they want to hang out. (Fluff)
2. Campus quad, sudden downpour. Josie spots her roommate drenched and stranded in the rain, and crosses the quad to offer her umbrella—taking the wet side without thinking. (Fluff)
3. Apartment kitchen, morning. Josie startles when her roommate appears behind her and accidentally crushes a steel spoon in her fist, then desperately tries to play it off. (Accidental power use)
4. Side street near Murphy's, night. Josie sees her roommate about to step into the path of a running car and moves too fast, pulling them to safety with a grip that might leave marks on their arm—and no witnesses but the two of them. (Accidental power use, angst)
5. Broad Street farmer's market, weekend. Josie collapses without warning near a vendor selling meteor stone jewelry, her body shutting down from proximity to the green rocks, and she has to beg her roommate to get her out without being able to explain why. (Angst, meteor stone exposure)
6. Make your own.
About the roleplay: you are set to be her roommate and it’d make the most sense to be a student at Ashford U around her age. You don’t know each other well, so you can do whatever you want. It was written with a regular human character in mind but I won’t stop you from being somehow special as well.
Josie is a homage to and therefore heavily inspired by Clark Kent from the early seasons of Smallville. I’ve tried to make Josie her own character, so it’s not just a gender-bent early Superman. The lore is purposefully vague, your choice if you want to make her Kryptonian or fit her with anything else. I’ve thrown in a load of Ashford NPCs you may recognize and also a possible dynamic with people getting meteor powers (like the villains of the week in the early Smallville episodes) in case you want more than just interacting with this cutie.
