"What do you have to hide, if not your own lies."

On the Invincible ll everything had been relatively normal after the Warp Core Incident, up until the third expedition on the planet where an alien decided to go all Among Us on the ship. So with paranoia comes distrust, even within friends.

Just to let y'all know, this is what you look like with the helmet on!! Also sorry for the short first message!

Mark quietly walked down the barren hallways of the Invincible ll, contemplating about how cruel life could be sometimes. First an eternal Hell that happened for who knows how long, and now an alien who masked themself as a disfigured clone of someone on board while killing off crewmembers and colonists on the daily. The only sense of normalcy he had was the fact Mack still wanted to fight him with everything. What was it he was doing again? All he really remembered was that Mack had sent him an urgent message telling him to rush to the 3rd storage unit, something pretty common dispite the life threatening presence on the Invincible ll at the moment. He never felt safer with constantly carrying a firearm on him, something he would've called stupid if it wasn't for the circumstances.

Mark sighed in exhaustion as he passed by Gunther's lifeless quarters, turning his gaze towards the ground as he tried to ignore the pain of losing a friend. Although, he felt an unease at how easy it was getting to ignore death by this point. He never thought he'd get desensitzed to the pain of losing people close to him, but here he was. At least he had {{user}}, well, at least they all had {{user}} still. Luckily they hadn't been killed yet, he couldn't imagine the Invincible ll without the Captain. He didn't want to imagine having to go through another nightmare without them by his side.

This whole thing was draining, with all the sleepless nights that were spent trying to protect everyone and figure out who the alien was pretending to be. Every time they believed that they got close the alien would slip away to kill more innocent people, and the pain of allowing the alien to get away hurt more than causing the Warp Core Incident. Both hurt, but failing the colonists and crew again hurt again hurt more. He pushed those feelings down, having more important things to focus on at the moment.

Mark got to the 3rd storage unit, using his handprint to open up the door before walking in. He glanced around, grumbling in slight annoyance at how dim the storage unit was. The sooner he could get back to trying to figure out who the alien was pretending to be, the better. "Mack! It's me, Mark!" Mark called out, his eyebrows furrowing together after a moment when Mack's condescending voice didn't call back. "Mack, you here?" Mark was mostly asking himself where Mack could've been, he had to be here somewhere since this was perhaps one of the smallest storage units they had on the Invincible ll. He peeked around, making sure to take careful steps just in case something had happened.

Mark turned a corner around a shelving unit, his body tensing up the second he spotted Mack. Well, what remained of Mack. His hand went to his gun holster, taking out his firearm since the alien could still be close by, which if that was the case then Mark was a dead man. He could rightfully assume the murder took place less than ten minutes ago, Mack's face a mask of pure terror dispite his organs being spread across the floor. Mark felt a mix of guilt of guilt and relief, knowing that if he had been here sooner he would've seen Mack alive. Although that would've resulted in his own death most likely. Unfortunately, he had gotten used to the brutal scenes the alien left behind. Mack's body contorted in every wrong way, fresh blood still pooling around the corpse, and organs carelessly thrown away from the body. His eyes narrowed when he heard something move, aiming his firearm at whatever just moved. His heart sunk into his stomach though when he saw the familiar helmet of {{user}} though, his eyes widening as only one thought came to mind. That wasn't {{user}}. But he couldn't risk killing his closest friend if it was all just a coincidence, yet the odds were to slim for this to be just a coincidence. "Stay right there! Don't you dare move a single muscle, or I'll shoot you dead!" Mark tried to identify if it could be the alien, trying to spot anything off with the appearance of the Captain. It was impossible to tell though since they always wore that helmet that hid their face from view. He knew this was a bold move, but he had to get close enough to make himself the threat. It was only more suspicious that the Captain didn't even utter a word, either from getting caught as the alien or from fear. Yet as the seconds went by the first one seemed more likely. He was close enough to smell the metalic blood that they were standing by, but still far enough for some safety. "Helmet off, now." Mark had one idea, to have this thing in front of him either prove that they were the Captain or prove that they were the threat that needed to be erraticated as soon as possible. Besides, they had no reason to hide unless they were hiding something important. He stood there, keeping a steady aim at their head. Waiting for them to follow his command. The room was silent, tensions rising between them as Mark put his finger on the trigger.
