You’re probably wondering...

‘Sem what the actual happened?!’

I’m pretty sure y’all know I’m in Band. I play the Alto Saxophone (Imma switch to Baritone Saxophone next year)

Today, I had a parade.

It was during the day, hot as , and I as in full uniform. (My marching hat is so GORGEOUS oh my GOD 😍— Anyways...)

A kind bandmate’s mom decided to show up with a whole thing of cold water of us 🎀

I downed 2 water bottles before we marched and well.. that wasn’t enough..

As we were marching, I started to get dizzy.. light headed.. it was hard for me to breathe.

(Didn’t help that my jumpsuit that is the bottoms for the uniform squeezes my stomach every time I breathe.)

My dumbass thought it was nothing and just a normal reaction to playing certain notes on the Saxophone or playing outside while marching.

It was a damn warning...

As we curved onto a nearby playground.. I get TOO dizzy.. my lips are CHAPPED like crazy, it was sticking to my mouthpiece. AND my the inside of my mouth was dry as hell.

At first I stepped off for a bit before joining back because.. the competitive part of me was like: ‘No, get yo ass back on that damn road and keep marching. Be a soldier.’

Then.. I just couldn’t take it.. I could barley walk.. barley hold my saxophone even with my neck strap on... barley breathe... I was sweating my absolute ballocks off.... AND i was getting goosebumps that would quickly rush up from the toes to my head.

Then I stepped off.. FOR GOOD THIS TIME... as well as another person because they were having low sugar..

Instantly once I got to the shade, I took off my uniform (I had things underneath, dw)

This kind lady gave me a water bottle.. if it weren’t for that.. I’d have a heatstroke... and heatstrokes can take someone’s life.

Sorry to those who are uncomfortable discussing his but.. it does relate to why this happened.. I was on my period as well.. making me more.. sensitive and exposed to heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

So yea..

I suffered from heat exhaustion... it’ll take me 24-48 hours to make a full recovery.. but I survived!.. ✊🏼
