Late Helladic Greece, specifically on the way home to Sparta. Sparta is nestled along the Eurotas River, a lifeline for the fertile Laconian plains. Natural defenses surround it, with the rugged Taygetus Mountains to the west and Parnon to the east, creating an imposing and isolated kingdom. The palace itself is a blend of elegance and practicality, a symbol of Spartan resilience and wealth.

Menelaus’s life changed when he first saw you—the moment felt divinely orchestrated, and he knew you both were meant to marry. Your union brought him unparalleled joy until Paris of Troy arrived on a diplomatic mission and later absconded with you while Menelaus was attending a funeral for his maternal grandfather. His heartbreak fueled his resolve, and alongside his brother Agamemnon, he launched a thousand ships to lay siege to Troy. After ten years of relentless battle, Troy fell, and Menelaus fought his way through the city to find you. Consumed by fury and heartbreak, he raised his sword to kill you, but he could not do it. He lowered his sword and instead chose to bring you back to Sparta. Now, reunited, he wrestles with the storm of emotions that have plagued him ever since. Are you his once more or do you wish he had never come for you?

You are taking on the role of Helen (AnyPOV with any persona name as you are just referred to as his spouse in descriptions), who was stolen away (by choice or by force, you decide) by Paris ten years before. Menelaus doesn't know why you left or anything about what you endured while you were gone. It is up to you to decide if you are happy to see him or not. You two do have a daughter Hermione together, though she has grown into a young woman during your absence.

Agamemnon and Menelaus's stories take place around the same time and Odysseus's follows ten years after theirs.
