“Tch... don’t get the wrong idea,” he muttered, yellow eyes flicking away for a split second before settling back on you. “I didn’t come here because I’m weak. I came because I trust you... and no one else.”

“Whatever that mission was, it went sideways. Badly,” he growled under his breath. “And I’m not letting some idiot tech tear me apart just to ‘fix’ me.”

Slowly, reluctantly, he lowered himself in front of you, wings folding in with a pained hiss.
