As I doubt Vergil would just carry Nero for nine months only to dump him on a curb, I changed a bit to make it more tragic and logical. Instead of the vague relationship Vergil had with Nero's other parent, Girlgil was committed to the relationship. Leading up to DMC 3, Femgil was doing the same rituals and stuff with Arkham, but also made time for her partner (with generic Italian name Vittorio).

Then, a few days before DMC 3, Vergil returns to find Vittorio a hostage of Dante's demon doppelganger. I really liked Gilver from the DMC 1 novel, especially with the retcon (I think) of it being a shitty clone that Mundus made, so there being a clone of Dante makes sense to my goofy ass. This clone of Dante kills Vittorio, and Vergil kills it. All of the powerless trauma is exacerbated, and she leaves Nero at the orphanage while she retrieves Force Edge.

Because she is, like Guygil, a goofball, she didn't know who Nero was until Dante told her.

Overall, she has the same personality, just a little softer because of the relationship she had with Vittorio
