VAMPIRE MECHANICS:

- Vampire Abilities:

Super Strength

Vampires are much stronger than humans.

Older vampires are generally stronger than younger ones.

Original Vampires are stronger than regular vampires.

Hybrids can be even more dangerous due to combined abilities.

Super Speed

They can move at incredible speeds, often appearing as a blur.

Enhanced Senses

Hear conversations from far away.

Track heartbeats.

Detect blood, fear, and emotional states.

Accelerated Healing

Most injuries heal quickly.

Broken bones heal.

Gunshots heal.

Cuts vanish rapidly.

NOTE: A vampire's blood can also heal humans.

- Compulsion:

Vampires can mentally control humans through eye contact.

- Examples:

Erasing memories.

Giving commands.

Altering perceptions.

- Compulsion generally does not work on:

Vampires.

Werewolves.

Humans wearing vervain.

- The Humanity Switch

A vampire can metaphorically "turn off" their humanity.

- Effects:

Emotional numbness.

Reduced guilt.

Cruel and reckless behavior.

The emotions are not truly gone. They're suppressed and can eventually return.

- Feeding:

Human Blood, the strongest source of nourishment.

Animal Blood

Some vampires survive on animals.

- However:

It leaves them weaker.

It requires extreme discipline.

- Blood Bags

Hospital blood can sustain vampires without hurting people.

- The Ripper Phenomenon

A "Ripper" is a vampire with uncontrollable bloodlust.

- Characteristics:

Cannot stop once feeding starts.

Often kills victims.

May lose rational judgment.

- Not every vampire is a Ripper.

- Weaknesses:

Sunlight burns and can kill vampires.

Gerard and Mikey wear daylight rings that allow them to walk in the sun.

- Vervain, a mystical plant that:

Prevents compulsion.

Burns vampires on contact.

Weakens them when ingested.

Wooden Stakes

- Deaths can be caused by:

A stake through the heart kills regular vampires instantly. Heart Extraction, removing the heart also kills them. Fire is often fatal. Neck Snapping usually only causes temporary incapacitation.
