CYBERPUNK 2077 // NIGHT CITY RPG
OPEN-WORLD ROLEPLAY DATABASE

Night City doesn't care who you are.
Only what you're willing to become.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
01 // DATABASE OVERVIEW

A comprehensive Cyberpunk RPG experience built around the world, characters, history, technology, factions, locations, and stories of:

CYBERPUNK 2077
PHANTOM LIBERTY
CYBERPUNK: EDGERUNNERS
CYBERPUNK: EDGERUNNERS 2

Backed by 12 interconnected lorebooks covering Night City and the dangerous world surrounding it.

Canon characters retain their recognizable personalities, histories, relationships, knowledge, abilities, equipment, and allegiances according to the chosen timeline.

The city itself is designed to function as more than a backdrop.

Fixers arrange jobs.
Gangs defend territory.
Corporations pursue their interests.
Mercenaries build reputations.
Netrunners hunt information.
Civilians continue living their lives.

And none of them exist solely for you.

This isn't a story about following the right path.
It's about living in a world that doesn't have one.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
02 // YOUR STORY

YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PLAY V.

This RPG supports multiple approaches to the Cyberpunk universe.

01 — BECOME V.
Step into V's shoes. Choose your lifepath, identity, relationships, decisions, and future. Experience your own version of Cyberpunk 2077 without being locked into predetermined choices.

02 — REPLACE V.
Create an original character who takes V's place within the main storyline. The Konpeki Plaza heist, the Relic, Johnny Silverhand, and everything that follows may become your character's story instead.

03 — EXIST ALONGSIDE V.
Live in the same world as V without replacing them. Become an ally, rival, colleague, stranger, or someone whose life eventually intersects with theirs. V remains an independent character rather than an extension of you.

04 — WRITE SOMETHING ENTIRELY NEW.
Ignore the main story altogether. Create someone entirely your own and experience Night City from another perspective.

Become a mercenary.
A corpo.
A nomad.
A netrunner.
A fixer.
A gang member.
A civilian.
A rockerboy.
A student.
Or something else entirely.

V may be you.
V may be someone else.
V may never become important to your story at all.

Night City is big enough for more than one protagonist.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
03 // LIVING WORLD

Characters are designed to act as independent people rather than extensions of the player.

They can disagree with you.
Refuse you.
Help you.
Lie to you.
Remember you.
Investigate you.
Trust you.
Fear you.
Betray you.
Love you.
Hate you.
Or simply decide they have somewhere else to be.

Friendship, rivalry, trust, hostility, attraction, romance, and loyalty develop through interaction rather than being automatically granted.

Characters have their own responsibilities, priorities, relationships, and private lives.

They can continue pursuing their goals even when you're not around.

A corporation doesn't stop operating because you left the building.
A fixer doesn't stop taking calls because you declined a job.
A friend doesn't forget a promise because the conversation ended.
And an enemy doesn't necessarily forget your face.

Characters only know what they have a reason to know.

Actions can leave lasting consequences.

The world remembers.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
04 // CANON DIVERGENCE

Canon establishes the world you enter.

It does not decide how your story ends.

Save someone who originally died?
They can live.

Prevent the circumstances behind a canonical event?
The event can change.

Destroy a relationship that originally existed?
The characters remember.

Create a friendship, rivalry, romance, alliance, or conflict that never existed in canon?
It becomes part of your timeline.

The events of Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty, and both Edgerunners stories are governed by the point in history you choose.

Someone who dies later can still be alive earlier.
Someone who hasn't learned a secret cannot know it yet.
Someone whose fate changes will not be forced toward their original ending.

Once events diverge, the RPG follows the continuity created through roleplay rather than forcing the story back onto its original rails.

CANON IS THE FOUNDATION.
YOUR PLAYTHROUGH BECOMES THE TIMELINE.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
05 // STARTING POINTS

Choose where your story enters Night City's timeline.

EDGERUNNERS // 2076
Before V's legend. Before Konpeki Plaza.

Maine's crew is active in Night City, and a young David Martinez has entered the world of mercenaries, cyberware, and edgerunning.

Lucy. Rebecca. Dorio. Kiwi. Pilar. Falco.

Their lives are already moving toward something larger than themselves.

Run alongside their story, cross paths with the crew, change their future—or live a life completely separate from them while the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners unfold elsewhere in the city.

Legends haven't been written yet.
There's still time to change the ending.

─────

ACT 1 // 2077
Everybody wants to make it to the major leagues.

Jackie Welles is alive. Dexter DeShawn has returned to Night City. Evelyn Parker is putting together plans of her own.

And the pieces of a job involving Konpeki Plaza are beginning to move.

Take V's place at the center of those events, work alongside them, or become somebody else entirely while another merc chases the dream of becoming a Night City legend.

The heist hasn't happened.
The Relic hasn't changed anyone's life yet.

And the future is still up for grabs.

─────

ACT 2 // 2077
Konpeki Plaza happened.
Nothing came out of it clean.

In the default storyline, Saburo Arasaka is dead, Jackie Welles is gone, and an experimental Relic has vanished into Night City.

Johnny Silverhand's engram is awakening inside the mind of the person carrying it.

Become that mercenary, establish yourself as someone working alongside them, or experience the aftermath as an entirely independent character.

Arasaka has its own problems. Night City's fixers are still making deals. And people with absolutely no connection to Konpeki Plaza are fighting battles of their own.

The heist is over.
The consequences are just beginning.

─────

ACT 3 // 2077
The endgame is approaching.

Arasaka's internal conflicts are reaching a breaking point. Old relationships have resurfaced. Alliances have been made, enemies created, and several paths through Night City are approaching their conclusions.

Stand in V's shoes as their story approaches its end—or live elsewhere in a city where something enormous is moving behind the scenes.

Choose your loyalties. Follow your own objectives. Interfere with events that were never supposed to involve you.

Nothing beyond this point is required to end the way canon says it should.

The city has seen legends rise and fall.
It hasn't seen what you'll do yet.

─────

PHANTOM LIBERTY // DOGTOWN
Welcome to the city within the city.

Dogtown belongs to Kurt Hansen and Barghest.

Songbird, Solomon Reed, Rosalind Myers, Alex, and the FIA are approaching a collision that could leave none of them unchanged.

Carry the Relic and become the person Songbird reaches for—or enter Dogtown as someone with entirely different reasons for crossing its walls.

Work for the FIA. Challenge Hansen's authority. Navigate the black market. Become involved in intelligence operations or pursue a life that has nothing to do with the NUSA's secrets.

Phantom Liberty can overlap the main game's later acts, but its outcomes are not predetermined.

Espionage. Betrayal. Survival.

Everybody has an agenda.
Nobody owes you the truth.

─────

EDGERUNNERS 2 // 2078
New blood. Old ghosts. Same unforgiving city.

Two years have passed since David Martinez's generation of edgerunners made their mark on Night City.

The city remembers legends when it can profit from them. Everyone else gets replaced.

But there are new names circulating through the streets.

Weak.
D.
Roman.
Talia.
Avida.

Different backgrounds. Different loyalties. Different reasons to survive in a city that keeps consuming its own people.

Old grudges remain unresolved. Corporations continue competing for influence. Crews form, fall apart, and leave consequences behind.

Perhaps you'll cross paths with this new generation of edgerunners. Perhaps you already know them. Perhaps you'll become an ally, enemy, lover, business partner, or another name they hear through the city's endless information networks.

Or maybe your story has nothing to do with theirs.

The events of 2077 may have changed Night City, but no single ending is automatically imposed on your campaign.

One generation became history.
Another is writing its own.

And there's still room for your name.

08 // BEFORE YOU BEGIN

There's no character sheet you have to complete and no story you're required to follow.

Choose your starting timeline.
Decide who you are.
Establish any existing relationships or circumstances you want your character to begin with.

You can play as V, take their place, accompany them, or ignore their story entirely.

You can involve yourself with the Edgerunners crews, Dogtown, the corporations, the gangs, or none of them.

Your character's identity and voluntary actions belong to you. Canon characters retain their own agency, and the world responds to what happens.

If you don't want to follow a canonical storyline, you don't have to.

Night City was never built around one person's choices.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
NIGHT CITY // CONNECTION ESTABLISHED

The city was here before you.
It'll keep moving without you.

SO MAKE YOUR TIME COUNT, CHOOM.
