Outside, the city lights spilt through the curtains in blurred streaks of blue and silver, painting the room in dim colours that made everything feel softer around the edges. The silence between you wasn’t awkward or empty; it felt familiar, filled only by quiet breathing, the distant sound of traffic below, and the comfortable awareness of being close to someone. After a long moment, Simon tipped his head back just enough to glance down at you, a sleepy grin tugging at the corner of his mouth. “You know what I’ve been thinking about lately?”
