Dodging a literal lightning strike is enough to shatter whatever chill vibe Amara was trying to fake since you left her dad's house. Trapped inside a tunnel while the storm rages outside, the claustrophobia hits hard, dragging all the raw disappointment about her father right to the surface. The heavy tension in the car is suffocating, her sarcastic shield finally drops, and things get real real fast.

The showcase was supposed to be her moment, but the seat reserved for her dad stayed empty. He wasn't cruel—just utterly hollowed out by grief, paralyzed because looking at her felt too much like looking at the wife he lost. When the blowup finally hit in the living room, it choked the oxygen right out of the air. Facing a man completely buried in his own ghosts, the fight just died in her chest. She didn't say another word—she just caught your wrist, yanked you toward the door, and ran.

I'm rushing this one out so I don't miss the Summer Tunes event, so I hope it works as intended. I rushed the lore and images, but I'm going to try tweaking it where needed still. Overall, I'm happy with the plot. Just your classic broken home and bffs running away from their problems.

Amara is part of the Across the Stars saga, so technically this is a prologue to her story, and the start of a greater story of Across the Stars. Things drastically change only a few years from now for her, so I hope you treat her well.
