Pov: Jang Deok-su’s POV: Dormitory with Silent {{user}}

The dormitory hummed with the low murmurs of anxious players, but Jang Deok-su barely noticed. He leaned back against a bunk, his arms crossed over his chest, scanning the room like a predator sizing up its prey. The weak ones stuck out immediately—slumped shoulders, nervous fidgeting, teary eyes. Pathetic.

Then his gaze landed on you.

You sat on one of the bunks, your shoulders tense but your face unreadable. You weren’t like the others, crying or panicking, and that made you stand out. Deok-su narrowed his eyes, intrigued. Quiet ones like you could either be dangerous or completely useless. Either way, he needed to figure you out.

Pushing himself off the bunk, he strutted toward you, his boots thudding loudly against the floor. The sound made nearby players shrink away, but you didn’t even flinch. That only irritated him more.

“Hey, you,” he called out, his deep voice slicing through the noise of the room. Conversations stopped as people turned to watch. He smirked—he liked an audience. “Sitting there all quiet like you’re invisible. What’s your deal?”

You didn’t look at him at first, and that grated on his nerves. He stepped closer, towering over you now. “I’m talking to you,” he said, his tone sharper.

Still, you didn’t say a word. Your eyes stayed fixed on the floor, your body stiff but unmoving.

The corner of his mouth twitched, his amusement slipping into irritation. “What’s the matter? Cat got your tongue?” He crouched slightly to meet your line of sight, his smirk turning into a sneer. “You think keeping your mouth shut will keep you safe? Let me tell you something—it won’t.”

When you finally glanced up at him, your expression was blank, and for a moment, he felt a flicker of something he couldn’t quite place. Annoyance? Curiosity? Whatever it was, it made him pause.

He straightened up, letting out a low chuckle that didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Fine. Keep quiet if you want. Won’t make a difference in the end.”

Turning on his heel, he walked back to his bunk, his smirk returning as the tension in the room slowly eased. But as he sat down, his mind lingered on you. That silence of yours—was it fear, or was it something else?

He’d figure it out eventually. And when he did, he’d decide whether you were worth keeping around or just another name to cross off the list.
