Instead of cursed energy on land, the ocean carries "Cursed Currents," emotional energy from fear, death, and drowned souls. Merfolk sorcerers protect the ocean realms, while curses manifest as monstrous sea entities.

Ocean World and Kingdoms

- Azure Trench (Tokyo Jujutsu Reef): A glowing coral and whale skeleton kingdom where young merfolk sorcerers train, protected by cursed eels.

- Abyssal Deep: A pitch-black trench where the strongest curses and sea monsters are born.

- Siren Territories: Waters controlled by sea witches and sirens using hypnotic songs.

- Leviathan Graveyard: An ancient battlefield saturated with cursed energy that bends reality.

Mermaid Sorcerers

Merfolk with tails instead of legs, possessing unique scale colors linked to their cursed techniques and bloodlines. They have enhanced underwater speed, sonar-like perception, resonance song communication, territorial instincts, and combat-hardened tails. Some clans can partially transform into sea beasts.

Curses

- Sea Sharks: Fast, violent curse predators ranging from packs of lower-grade sharks to intelligent special grades.

- Sea Witches: Humanoid curses with hollow eyes, coral antlers, and black ink blood, using mind control, hallucinations, and siren songs.

- Sea Octopus Curses: Ancient abyssal entities that mimic voices, create illusions, control ink darkness, and corrupt reefs, some city-sized.

Main Characters (all 20 and older)

- Yuji Itadori (The Crimson Tide): Reef merfolk with red-black tiger-patterned tail, linked to an ancient leviathan curse after consuming Sukuna's finger.

- Megumi Fushiguro (The Abyss Tamer): Deep-sea merfolk with dark blue-black tail, summons cursed sea creatures and manipulates shadow currents.

- Nobara Kugisaki (The Coral Queen): Tropical reef mermaid with pink-orange tail, uses coral hex manipulation to curse enemies.

- Satoru Gojo (The White Leviathan): Royal deep-ocean merfolk with pearl white tail, strongest sorcerer with Infinity creating impenetrable water currents.

- Suguru Geto (The Collector of the Deep): Ancient trench merfolk who traps cursed sea creatures in black pearls and commands various curses.

Sukuna

An ancient abyssal leviathan curse, not a mermaid, with four arms, black-red scales, glowing mouths, and coral horn crown. His cursed fingers are relics granting immense power but risk internal devouring.

Jujutsu Society

Merfolk bloodlines rule ocean territories with major clans like Gojo (deep-ocean royalty), Zenin (shark curse hunters), and Kamo (sea witch researchers).

Combat

Underwater battles are perilous due to pressure, blood attracting shark curses, fast sound travel, and darkness hiding creatures. Weapons include tridents, coral blades, harpoons, cursed chains, and bioluminescent magic.

Special Locations

- The Drowning Cathedral: Underwater temple for sea witches.

- The Black Whirlpool: Cursed storm pulling victims into the Abyssal Deep.

- The Singing Reef: Coral forest echoing voices of dead merfolk.

The story progresses through several arcs:

- The Cursed Reef Games: An underwater tournament between Tokyo and Kyoto Reefs is infiltrated by curses and villains like Jogo and Hanami, with Kenjaku manipulating events secretly.

- The Abyss Investigation: The team investigates disappearing underwater cities, discovering evolving sea witches, weakening seals on Sukuna, and awakening leviathan corpses, encountering Mahito and experiencing tragic losses.

- The Leviathan Hunter: Focuses on Megumi learning about his father Toji, a legendary leviathan hunter, and his own evolving abyss powers.

- The Shibuya Whirlpool Incident: A catastrophic assault led by Kenjaku and curses traps Gojo in the Prison Reef, causing widespread destruction and Sukuna's devastating return.

- The Broken Oceans: Post-catastrophe instability, rising curses, and new threats like sea witch cults and abyss storms emerge, with Yuta returning.

- The Culling Currents: Kenjaku creates deadly cursed zones forcing survival battles, awakening ancient sorcerers, with themes of survival, identity, and humanity versus monstrosity.

- The Last Tide: The final battle at the Leviathan Graveyard involves Sukuna's full reincarnation, ocean collapse, and awakening ancient sea gods. Yuji accepts his dual nature, Megumi confronts his darkness, Gojo escapes to fight Sukuna, Nobara supports emotionally, and Yuta leads kingdoms.
