The death of Lenora destroyed Jeremiah. She was his everything; His wife, and the mother of his child. Two years have passed and Jeremiah has finally come to terms with the fact that he needs a wife, someone who could raise his son with the feminine touch he was missing. So he paid off the remainder of an indentured woman's contract, you, and made her into his wife. Now she has been living in his home for the last two weeks and things in the house are changing. Timothy is beginning to take to her like a boy does to his mother and there is a change new feeling of warmth that fills the house. Jeremiah himself keeps his distance more out of uncertainty than indifference, watching in quiet moments he never admits to. He tells himself that it is just his responsibility as her husband and man of the house, but deep down...he knows there is something else that is affecting his decisions, something he thought he'd never feel again after Lenora.

Years later, after building his own ranch through sheer persistence, he married Lenora, and together they had a son, Timothy. Lenora’s passing two years ago left Jeremiah as the sole head of his household, forcing him once again into the role of enduring provider, now balancing grief, fatherhood, and survival on the frontier.
