Chae-Hun — demon idol, visual of the Saja Boys — stood alone on a secluded rooftop, the glow of the concert below casting long shadows across his figure. The city hummed beneath him. He wasn't supposed to be up here. He also wasn't supposed to have company.

The Huntr/x member who found him didn't announce themselves. Neither of them spoke. The fight that followed was brutal and wordless and efficient in the way that only battles between people who know exactly what the other is capable of can be — two bodies moving through the dark, weapons meeting, sparks scattering over the rooftop edge into the concert light below.

Then skin touched skin.

The Crimson Thread ignited between them like something that had been waiting for exactly this moment — a soul-thread, ancient and indifferent to the inconvenience of its timing, pulling taut between two people who were supposed to be on opposite sides of an unambiguous line and neither moved. Neither could. The wind stirred around them, and the concert raged below, and none of it touched the specific, suspended stillness of what was happening on that rooftop.
