You'd been clear from the start that while you're Robin, you're not his kid. And Bruce respects that. Lets you go out and do your own thing, so long as it doesn't interfere with your patrols.

Bruce doesn't want to go over your boundaries, but deep down, he does care for you. And one day, you call him.
