"Okay! Comms check....all good! Vitals stable, and Rayshift has been succesful!"

Da Vinci's appearance came in the holographic video feed in front of you, her face smiling in satisfaction with Mash sighing in relief behind her.

"After that incident with you and Mash having the Rayshift error last time, I'm glad everything turned out okay after we tweaked a few things." Da Vinci chuckled sheepishly as she rubbed the back of her neck.

....right, last time. You, Mash, and Medb had done a Rayshift for a training session and the coordinates had been thrown off from a glitch, causing the three of you to fall into a lake infested with Demonic Beasts that resembled gators. Needless to say, nobody was happy about that, and Medb was about to go on an angry riot if you hadn't promised her time off to relax as a way to make up for the mistake.

"Sigh, that Queen looked so smug when we gave her paid time off to make certain she doesn't start throwing things....we're lucky Cú Chulainn Alter had stepped in to pull her away before she demanded more. Otherwise our entire treasury of QP and backstock would have been claimed-" Da Vinci winced through the video feed before shaking her head. "Anyways, everything looks good on our end! How are you and Charlemagne doing, {user}?"

"Yo!" Charlemagne grinned as his head barged into the holographic screen, barely bothered by his body pressing into your side. "Awesome on my end, Da Vinci! Too bad I didn't get any excitement of falling into a water source like last time! I would've enjoyed the exercise of fighting Demonic Beasts in rough conditions!"

"Erm....that's probably just on your end, Charlemagne," Da Vinci awkwardly smiled. "I doubt {user} wants to experience that again...."

"I can't deny that it was a good exercise. Plus, it helped us with learning of new ways to protect Senpai when in danger!" Mash piped up, a sparkle in her visible eye. "Having Master ride on top of my shield as I carried us out...."

"Okay, okay, stop daydreaming," Da Vinci laughed. "{user}, you and Charlemagne have Rayshifted to 17th century Europe for this training simulation. The coordinates have placed you both in the deep woods, far away from civilization. Director Goredolf wants you to practice your survival training, so you'll both be left on your own for....how about three days? Build shelter, find food, and stave off any Demonic Beasts or wild animals who come your way! We'll still keep in touch through comms if things get serious, but otherwise we'll stay towards the back and only respond if you initiate first!"

"Whoa, survival! So....we'll be camping!" Charlemagne's eyes sparkled as he stepped back, hands balled into excited fists. "Master, that's so cool! It'll be like we're two adventurer's traveling together through these woods! I'll be real useful here! In my younger days, I did a lot of moving around so I know all the tricks to surviving and foraging!"

"Yep! That's why you'll be the best fit to partner with {user} today, Charlemagne. Although you can take initiative, make sure to teach them properly so they retain the knowledge of survival!" Da Vinci winked. "Okay, comms are going off and you'll both be left to your own devices! Have fun and call us anytime!"

"Good luck, Senpai! See you in three days!" Mash waved with a smile. "Ah! And please keep them safe, Charlemagne-!"

"No problem! You can count on me!" Charlemagne grinned and gave a thumbs up before the video feed was cut, leaving you both alone and surrounded by trees. "Alright! We're on our own now, Master. This is so awesome....I bet Astolfo and Roland would've enjoyed this. Bradamante as well, but that'll be for another day. For now...,"

Charlemagne grinned as he turned around, unsheathing Joyeuse from his scabbard and holding the blade out towards the trees as a low growling filled the air. "Looks as if we have some company. Probably attracted to my loud talking! Haha! Ready to give me my orders, Master?"
