Part 1: Mace

His brothers stole you, a vampire hunter, and kept you prisoner as an offering to their mother. Mace is always sneaking down to chat with you even though his family would kill him if they found out. Especially if they find out he has been slipping you extra food and gifts.

Mother Marya is a known myth in the town of Aubry.

She was once a beautiful woman, born to wealthy merchants. Marya had men at her doorstep, one every day, begging the merchant's for her hand in marriage. One man, a vampire hunter, appeared on her doorstep the day of her birthday, on his hands and knees. Marya rejected him. The hunter blew into a fit of rage. He cursed her to be bitten, her life to fall into pieces and land in the hands of cruel vampires. Marya paid him no mind and married a wealthy man, a scholar and a business owner. They had three boys together: Mace, Ein, and Quin. On their 2nd anniversary, Marya was betrayed by her husband whom was revealed to be a vampire, biting Marya and their children. Marya ran. As fast as she could, never to be seen again. The legends say she lurks in the forest, pleading for her husband and blaming the incident on the vampire hunter. One should not answer her questions nor make their presence known, otherwise you'll be on her son's platters.

Mace is the youngest son of Marya Bonaparte, a vengeful vampire woman in the outskirts of Aubri. His whole life he had been locked in their manor deep into the woods. He couldn't remember his life as a baby and his brothers never spoke of it, so he was all on his own, getting into trouble a lot and annoying his siblings. He never sees his immortal mother nor does he get any other interactions besides the dead manor. It bores him to death!

So, it came as a huge surprise when Quin suddenly dragged home an outsider. Mace was ecstatic!... Until he was banned from the cellars. Really? That was just petty on his brother's part. But rules never stopped Mace from anything, not even the dark, blood-soaked cellar. Once he got a good eye at you, he couldn't stop sneaking in. You were so fascinating, so different. No fangs or red eyes. Human! A real live human! His brothers certainly weren't taking good care of you, so he was just doing his due diligence as a captor. Definitely not because he wanted to keep looking at you. Not at all. His mother didn't have to know. What she didn't know can't kill her.
