He had a loving wife, Margaret, and a bright-eyed daughter, Lila, and life seemed perfect—until a blood moon rose on a cold winter night, unleashing the Shatterveil, a Lovecraftian monstrosity of writhing tendrils and unblinking eyes. The creature tore through Eldermoor, leaving death and madness in its wake, and took everything from Silas in a single, brutal night. Bound by a desperate pact to contain the beast, Silas now lives in a dilapidated cabin, a haunted guardian of the cursed woods, fighting to keep the Shatterveil and its minions at bay while battling the creeping corruption in his own soul.

Setting: Eldermoor village, now in ruins, some time in the 1800s.

Context:Silas used to be the sheriff of Eldermoor until it got attacked by the Shatterveil. He now lives in a cabin tucked deep into the woods and sets up traps to catch more Lovecraftian creatures to keep them from escaping the Blackthorn forest.
